How to Choose a Profitable Niche for Your Blog?

How to choose a proper and profitable niche (Topic Area) for your blog?

When you first decide to start a blog, you are filled with doubts. You confuse about the niche. With this uncertainty of the topic area you just open a blog and start posting this and that and fill your blog with low quality content. As the blog doesn’t contain any value, it cannot attract and sustain visitors and dies after some days if not, in months. You lose your interest and passion about blogging and toss that thought onto attic.  This is what happens with 95 percent of bloggers.

If you do not want to happen this with you, it is better to keep in mind about your interest, hobby and expertise as well as popularity, competition and profitability of that topic when choosing a topic area. You need to do a little bit research here. Just walk into a book store in a railway station or near your house, look through the countless magazines that line in the racks. You will find that, there are people interested in reading about everything from mobiles to Microsoft software, movies to politics and sewing to cooking. You will definitely find one in which you have a little bit knowledge or at least some interest.

However When you start your first blog it is better to be in a niche where you know that even some success will surely reap benefits.  There are some programs (free), you can use to decide your niche and one I always like to recommend you is Google Adwords’ Traffic Estimator Sand Box.

Things to remember when starting a blog

1.     It is better to be of your hobby or interest. You can do more justice if you have a little knowledge of your niche and further if you want to turn your blog into a brand, you need to be expert of your topic area.
2.     Topic area should be huge, that means you should be able to post much content in your blog. It is better to be in niche where there is scope for visitors to find new knowledge whenever they visit your blog.
3.     Search volume should be at least average if not possible high. If a niche does not have sufficient search volume it hardly gets any traffic.
4.      Should have much advertising potential. That means you should be able to find sufficient advertisers for your blog. It is quite important, unless you are starting a non-profitable blog.
5.     It is better to take in to consideration about the competition. If competition is low there are much more chances for your blog could be in the top in search results.  Top ten in search results means more traffic and therefore more income.

There are millions of bloggers with millions of topics in the blog world, but, you don’t need to worry, still there is enough room for the new comers. The audience will definitely embrace any blog with quality and that is unique. Best of Luck. Go! start blogging.
